"First you fall in love with Antarctica, and then it breaks your heart." - Kim Stanley Robinson
If you like nice photos and you've 20 minutes to spare while waiting for the dinner to cook, or the laundry to finish, grab a coffee and watch this. Make sure you're warmly dressed though, as it may leave you cold (literally).

Just the three photos you posted are amazingly beautiful.
I cheated, Ruth and got those from google images as you couldn't copy and paste from the video I linked to! The video does have that KIND of photo though...
I am just weighing up taking my grand daughter to Lapland on one of those Santa things - it's ruinously expensive but I WANT TO GOOOOOOOO - note the child has not been consulted :o)
I don't suppose there's a great demand for mission work down there, but you could give it a whirl!
Never say Never.. you can never tell what the future will behold or where our paths will take us..
Pls can I come along and carry your bags if you do get to go?
It looks absolutely beautiful, so pristine and sparkling clean and white. And the penguins are so enchanting.
But it's a place I know I would loathe after two minutes. I can't stand being cold all the time, and I would be very nervous in all that ice and snow. Much better for me to watch vids and look at pictures. ;)
It's warming up down under so great to see such cool photos. If you live here, you can catch a lazy flight over Antarctica as a day trip but I've never done it. A friend of mine took his son kayaking down there but they left from Argentina on an icebreaker (mum stayed warm on the ship!)
